Ford Explorer Lowering Springs: The 'Optimal Balance' Found After Years of Research:
- The Ford Explorer, which began as a traditional American SUV with a body-on-frame structure and leaf springs, has now evolved significantly into a modern vehicle featuring a monocoque body, multi-link rear suspension, and even front McPherson struts.
Nevertheless, the Explorer's unique DNA remains, providing a ride that is both flexible and stable. This can be attributed to a blend of soft American characteristics and tighter European characteristics. It also offers excellent high-speed stability, satisfying many owners.
However, it's challenging to satisfy the needs of all owners. Some desire a softer ride akin to older luxury sedans, while others prefer a more dynamic and sporty driving experience. Additionally, some feel uncomfortable with the slightly high stock ride height.
- The Challenging Development Process: Searching for 'Balance'
To meet these diverse needs, we began developing Explorer-specific lowering springs several years ago. Our goal wasn't simply to lower the ride height or adjust spring stiffness, but to find the optimal 'harmony' with the stock dampers and other suspension components.
We went through numerous tests and revisions, changing the spring height and stiffness. However, we found that making the spring excessively softer than stock, beyond a certain point, actually degraded ride quality.
This is because a spring doesn't work in isolation; it's organically connected to countless suspension components, including the dampers. Excessively altering just one part can upset the overall balance and lead to unexpected side effects or performance degradation. A cautious approach was especially necessary considering the vehicle's weight remains unchanged. This is precisely the core of spring design and tuning.
- The Conclusion After Countless Tests: 'Appropriate' Change
After extensive research and development, our conclusion was clear: "For lowering springs to be used with stock dampers, 'appropriate' lowering and 'appropriate' stiffness increase are key." Here, the word 'appropriate' is the core value and know-how behind our development.
Based on countless tests to find the optimal combination with stock dampers, our recommended final specifications are as follows:
Approx. 25 mm (1 inch) lowering for both front and rear
Approx. 120% stiffness increase compared to stock
Even with this level of change, the perceived difference in ride height during vehicle entry and exit is clear. It also enhances the vehicle's stability and adds a sportier driving feel without being excessive.
Naturally, evaluations of driving performance and ride quality can vary personally. However, through numerous rigorous tests, we are confident that we have achieved a sufficiently satisfactory change compared to stock. We will soon share actual driving feedback with you.

1. Exchanges

We are unable to process any exchanges requested after 30 days.
- The item must be in the exact same condition as it was received.
- Please inform us of your preferred method for paying the replacement item's shipping cost; we will then promptly provide you with an invoice.
2. Returns
We understand that your purchase may not always be the right fit. If you are unsatisfied, you may return your item within 30 days of receipt to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns requested after 30 days cannot be accepted
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
- The item must be returned in the exact same condition as it was received.
- A 15% restocking fee will be applied to all returns.
- The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
- Please include a brief note in the return package specifying the reason for the return.
3. Damaged Shipment
If your item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately. We will handle the FedEx claim process entirely on your behalf. Once the claim is approved by FedEx, we will promptly ship a replacement or issue a full refund. To avoid delaying the claim process, please DO NOT file a claim with FedEx yourself. Instead, we kindly ask that you take multiple clear photos of the damaged package and its contents from various angles and send them to us.
4. Incorrect Item Received
